The Boots Rating System:

Cellu-Guard is the first sunscreen product range with a dual rating system- one with an SPF rating (which only measures the UVB – or burning rays – of the sun) and one to measure UVA rays (the aging rays of the sun). The SPF rating is common. But Sothys has adopted the Boots Pharmacy (the British import) system of rating UVA which uses stars. 1 star is the least UVA protection; 4 stars is the most. All of Sothys products either have 3 or 4 star ratings. This is a very interesting fact because currently no other US line offers this dual rating and since the UVA rays are the ones that most damage the skin long tern (and can cause skin cancer), this is very important information.
