Dermalogica Stabilizing Repair Cream: ingredients, texture and how to use it
Stabilizing Repair Cream is Dermalogica's balmy moisturizer for sensitive-feeling skin. Squalane, shea butter and jojoba oil give it a richer base, while glycerin and butylene glycol add water-binding ingredients. Choose it when comfort and a cushioned cream matter more than a weightless gel finish.

Is it the right texture for you?
Best suited to a rich evening moisturizer or a day cream for skin that feels dry and tight. If you prefer a light lotion with no botanical extracts, Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer is a cheaper option to compare. Stabilizing Repair Cream is a moisturizer; apply your separate sunscreen afterward in the morning.

Dermalogica Stabilizing Repair Cream
A balmy moisturizer with squalane, shea butter, jojoba oil, glycerin and a ceramide-building complex, aimed at sensitive-feeling skin.
- Before choosing: A richer choice than a light lotion or gel; includes several botanical extracts.
- How the brand directs use: Warm between your hands and spread over face and neck with light upward strokes, once or twice a day. Avoid the eye area. Follow with sunscreen in the morning.
What the ceramide-building claim means
The brand calls its lipid blend a Ceramide-Building Complex. The ingredient list names cetylhydroxyproline palmitamide, rapeseed sterols and other lipids; it does not list Ceramide NP or the five named ceramides used in Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer. This distinction helps if you are specifically shopping by a named ceramide ingredient.
- Squalane, shea butter and jojoba oil: the main emollient choices near the start of the list.
- Glycerin and butylene glycol: humectants.
- Centella, resurrection plant and other extracts: the botanical blend.
Fragrance, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid
The current US ingredient list does not name fragrance/parfum, niacinamide or hyaluronic acid. It does contain plant extracts, including ginger and centella. For a moisturizer without botanical extracts, the linked Vanicream guide offers a simpler starting point.
How to fit it into a routine
Use it after cleansing and any serum. Warm the cream in your hands before spreading it over the face and neck. Follow the brand's once- or twice-daily directions; in a morning routine, sunscreen comes afterward.
- A light lotion is the more natural starting point if you dislike a balmy finish.
- Intensive Moisture Balance is another rich Dermalogica option, with Ceramide NP and hyaluronic acid rather than this formula.
