How Does UV Radiation Damage The Skin?

How To Use:
Use daily, in the am, after SkinCeuticals antioxidant treatment and moisturizer. Apply liberally to face, neck and chest, 15 minutes before sun exposure. Use before applying makeup. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or perspiring and after towel drying. Children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor.

Avobenzone 2%
Avobenzone is the only organic UVA filter in the group of FDA-approved sunscreen materials. Its protective spectral coverage begins at 320 nm, and reaches its highest level beyond 340 nm. The disadvantage of Avobenzone in the past has been that, although very effective, its protective performance reduced quickly with exposure to the sun. Ecamsule 3%
Mexoryl SX (ecamsule) is water soluble and inherently photostable. It has the ability to block the entire range of short UVA rays (320-340 nm) with maximum protection occurring at 340 nm. Because the peak of trans-urocanic excitation leading to the generation of free radicals occurs at 340 nm, Mexoryl SX (ecamsule) provides significant protection from cutaneous damage, including photoaging and more serious skin conditions such as skin cancer.
Octocrylene 10%
Octocrylene is an efficient chemical UVB filter approved by the FDA covering the complete UVB range. Unlike some other chemical filters, Octocrylene is extremely photostable, meaning its performance is not reduced when exposed to the sun for extended periods of time. Octocrylene has the added benefit of stabilizing Avobenzone to enhance its performance.
