What does Sundari Mean?
SUNDĂRI (n. sun-'dar-ee) means "a beautiful woman" in Sanskrit.

What is Sundari's Philosophy?
SUNDĂRI is an essential part of a lifestyle that enables you to achieve harmony and balance in mind, body and spirit as you journey through life.

A distinctive collection of anti-aging skincare products created from the purest ingredients and rarest essences distilled from nature, SUNDĂRI blends modern science for immediate results with botanicals known through ancient wisdom.

What does Sundari Mean "The Beauty Within"?
At SUNDĂRI beauty is being well, a natural vitality inspired by balance, a radiance that shines from the inside out. Fused from Eastern and Western beauty practices, our philosophy empowers women to embody beauty and discover their own inherent balance. To embody beauty is a creative process, an active quest towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. SUNDĂRI invites you to join us in this universal quest.

The Sanskrit word sundări defines beauty as an experience and an endeavor, not an object to attain. It also presents us with an image of beauty itself. In Vedic tradition, sundări is often defined as the goddess within. The goddess sundări is the personification of beauty. She is honored in Indian culture for her symmetry, strength and grace. This reverence for sundări is a regard for the light in each of us. By honoring her, we honor ourselves.

With SUNDĂRI we offer a new vision of beauty, inspired by the rich history of Ayurveda and the sister philosophies of yoga and holistic health. Our skin care, designed to bring balance to the mind, body and spirit, honors the goddess within us all. Sundări is our mantra and our guide, beauty embodied and a reflection of our own true light. She ushers us on our common quest, a journey towards being well.

How does Sundari product prevent aging?
At SUNDĂRI, we believe that beauty and well-being are inter-connected and beautiful skin is merely a reflection of a state of being well. Hence, the desire for beauty is also a journey towards well being. The mind body connection in aging has been rediscovered by modern science. How you think and feel has a direct impact on the body’s immune response. Scientific research has highlighted that stress is linked directly to accelerated aging with collagen and elastin protein breakdown, skin wrinkling, acne, hair loss, etc.

Inspired by Ayurveda, SUNDĂRI offers a holistic approach to beauty. Products and treatments work synergistically to reduce oxidative stress. Anti aging is intrinsic to our products as well as treatments. Beautiful skin is the result of topical product application as well as relaxation inducing features of our spa treatments.

What is Ayurveda?
The splendor of the intuitive minds of Indian sages finds its creative expression in Ayurveda – a holistic science and philosophy of life, health, and longevity. Over thousands of years, the relevance of the fundamental principles and practices of Ayurveda continue to this day.

The definition of health in Ayurveda is derived from a world view of a harmonious working of the three components of being - body, mind and soul. The beneficial and adverse influences leading respectively to health and disease and the impact of these on health, happiness and longevity is qualified in Ayurveda. Such a pragmatic definition permits integration of reductionist data and holistic approaches, keeping the individual’s health and community as a central goal.

A way of life –involving mind body harmony that is conducive to health, happiness and longevity is emphasized in Ayurveda. Such a lifestyle has to be based on an individual’s constitution, daily habits, moderation in food, exercise, sex, sleep etc. A code of conduct as per seasonal and climatic changes has been laid down.

One of the basic causes of disharmony or disease involves no use, abuse or excessive use of body-mind activities. Neither excessive restraint nor excessive indulgence are recommended in Ayurveda.

Stress is caused due to disharmony which is both external and internal. Ayurveda describes, daily or intermittent stress relieving modalities. These include special diets, Shirodhara (Head drop), Abhayanga (Ayurvedic massage), meditation etc. Such total body care leads to an increased capacity to adapt to stress. Thus, self resistance rather than self indulgence reinforces wellness. Ayurveda is a science which offers happiness, health and longevity and not a mere alternative system of medicine.
