Which Revision Intellishade? Tint, finish and sunscreen filters
The Intellishade names hide three decisions: tint or no tint, mineral-only or mixed/chemical sunscreen filters, and radiant or matte finish. The current US lineup has five distinct products rather than interchangeable labels.
Start with the feature that matters most
For tint, choose between radiant Original, lower-shine Matte, and all-mineral radiant TruPhysical. Without tint, choose chemical-filter Clear or all-mineral TruPhysical Clear; both are SPF 50. Original, Matte and TruPhysical are SPF 45. All five are sold in 1.7 oz sizes on Revision's US site.
US prices and where to buy

A moisturizing, naturally radiant tinted SPF 45 choice; Revision positions it for normal-to-dry skin.
Consider: Uses both mineral and chemical sunscreen actives, and contains beeswax. Its one sheer tint may not suit every complexion.
Use: Apply evenly as the last morning skin-care step, alone or under makeup. The US Drug Facts direct liberal application 15 minutes before sun exposure, reapplication at least every two hours, and a water-resistant sunscreen for swimming or sweating.
The tinted SPF 45 option for a matte look and less visible shine, especially if skin is combination or oily.
Consider: Like Original, it has a sheer tint and SPF 45, with different sunscreen-active percentages and an inactive base of its own. The matte finish may be less appealing if you prefer a moisturizing glow.

The tinted, radiant all-mineral branch: its only sunscreen actives are titanium dioxide 5.5% and zinc oxide 14.5%.
Consider: It contains beeswax and has a single sheer tint rather than a choice of shades.

The untinted, oil-free SPF 50 option using four chemical sunscreen actives.
Consider: Contains Fragrance (Parfum) and named fragrance components. It offers no color coverage.
Use: Apply evenly to face and neck as the last morning skin-care step. The US Drug Facts direct liberal application 15 minutes before sun exposure, reapplication at least every two hours, and a water-resistant sunscreen for swimming or sweating.
The untinted, oil-free all-mineral SPF 50 option; titanium dioxide 2.5% and zinc oxide 15.2% are its only sunscreen actives.
Consider: The list includes iron oxide CI 77492 and melanin despite the Clear name. Revision describes the finished look as transparent.

Why consider it
A moisturizing, naturally radiant tinted SPF 45 choice; Revision positions it for normal-to-dry skin.
The tinted SPF 45 option for a matte look and less visible shine, especially if skin is combination or oily.
Trade-off to consider
Uses both mineral and chemical sunscreen actives, and contains beeswax. Its one sheer tint may not suit every complexion.
Like Original, it has a sheer tint and SPF 45, with different sunscreen-active percentages and an inactive base of its own. The matte finish may be less appealing if you prefer a moisturizing glow.
Original and Matte both have sheer tinted SPF 45 with a mix of mineral and chemical sunscreen actives. Original is Revision's more moisturizing radiant version; Matte is its reduced-shine choice for combination or oily skin. TruPhysical also has sheer tint and a radiant finish, but its only sunscreen actives are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
These are single sheer tints, not shade ranges. Revision's TruPhysical FAQ acknowledges that its tint can look warmer or darker on some complexions.
Clear is an untinted, oil-free SPF 50 with avobenzone, homosalate, octinoxate and octisalate as actives. TruPhysical Clear is the untinted, oil-free, mineral-only SPF 50 branch with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The latter's inactive list still contains a yellow iron oxide and melanin; Revision describes its finished appearance as transparent, so 'Clear' refers to the intended on-skin look, not a colorless ingredient list.
Clear's full list contains Fragrance (Parfum) and named fragrance components. The published TruPhysical Clear list does not name Fragrance (Parfum).
Clear: no tint, chemical sunscreen filters, SPF 50.
TruPhysical Clear: no tint, mineral-only filters, SPF 50.
Price and daily use
The official store showed $89 for each 1.7 oz Original, Matte and Clear, and $91 for each 1.7 oz TruPhysical version. With only $2 between the groups, tint, finish and sunscreen filters are the useful buying distinctions.
Revision presents these as final morning skin-care steps. The US Drug Facts for all five direct liberal application 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapplication at least every two hours. Use a water-resistant sunscreen for swimming or sweating.
